Palma Sola National Park

Tour Information

During Pre-Hispanic times 800 B.C. to 750 A.D.in the Acapulco region the ancient Yope Indians carved symbols into the cliffs and bolders of El Veladero mountain to record agricultural cycles. This is where our tour begins.

Our next destination will be the Zocalo. It is the city square of Acapulco and is home to the oldest cathedral in our city. The Zocalo has nice little shops, retaurants and is sheltered from the sun by towering shade trees. There are no pushy vendors trying to sell trinkets. This is an excellent place to cool off and recover from the Palma Sola hike.

Our third and final stop in our journey is La Quebrada to view the well known Cliff Diver show. The men scale the mountain wall, say their prayers at the alter and plunge into the ocean from nearly 200 feet above. The cliff is at an angle, the ocean below is filled with jagged boulders and the men diving are truely brave. This is a must see Acapulco tradtion.
